NaPoWriMo 2018 - Day 23 - 25

Day 23 -
I could hear the murmurings,
all the whispers,
no one wanted to tell me the truth,
but isn't that everything we always seek?
Why for anyone instance
would I not want to know?
Do they think that they can hide it?
Do they think that I won't die,
as long as they don't say it out loud?

Day 24 -
And when that last day comes,
I hope they say he was a good man.
Maybe someone will have learned something,
even though he was never an actual teacher.
Maybe someone's life turned out better
because of something he did for them.
Maybe his daughter will finally know the truth,
but it will probably be up to him to tell her.
Maybe he will have used all the crayons in the box,
at least once.
Maybe the day won't be so dark
or the moon hang so low.
Maybe he will have accomplished something
that people will be able to carry on with them.
But if I'm ever going to get to that point
then it is time to get busy living
or get busy dying.

Day 25 -
Do not leave out in the cold.
Do not under cook.
Do not allow to wander
too far.
Do not allow to play in traffic.
Do not ignore.
Do not listen to his tales
with doubt.
